Chapter History

The Newark NJ Alumni Chapter received its charter from the Grand Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. on Thursday December 14th, 1947. At the time, alumni chapters of historically Black Greek organizations were rare. But in part because of the foresight of the charter members of this Chapter, Alumni Chapters now represent an integral part of the strength and vitality Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. It is in the memory of our charter members that we continue achieve and uplift the aims of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. in the greater Essex county area. |

On December 14th, 2007, The members of the Newark NJ Alumni Chapter gathered to celebrate 60 years of achievement and paid homage to our charter members realizing fully that without their dedication and commitment none of the past 62 years would have been possible. |
