The Newark Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Would like to congratulate Thornton C. Smith on his receipt of the Samuel C. Hamilton Award at the 80th North Eastern Province Council held this past weekend in East Elmhurst, NY.  This marks the first time a member of  the Newark Alumni Chapter has received such an honor. Newark, NJ – February 25, 2009 – The Newark (NJ) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., an international organization founded on the campus of Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana on January 5, 1911, today announced the launch of its new web site, www.newarknjnupes.com. The interactive web site features history, photos and information about the fraternity, Newark Alumni Chapter and the community it serves.

“The Internet is the fastest and most efficient way to receive information,” Newark Alumni Chapter Polemarch Ted Sanchious says. “At the click of a button, visitors will be able to peruse our web site and become aware of the great work that the Newark Alumni Chapter is doing in the community.”

The user-friendly web site, designed by Spinline Studio, includes a community event calendar, interactive message board and links to the national, provincial and local chapter web sites. Chapter members have exclusive access to a “Members Only,” section, which allows them to communicate freely with one another and be kept abreast of internal information.

The site is operated and managed by chapter members who will make updates on a weekly basis. Members believe that the new web site will serve as a pathway to communicate with members and the community we serve.

The Newark (NJ) Alumni Chapter was chartered December 14, 1947 and has worked to provide community service to Newark and surrounding areas for more than 60 years.
